Dog Prong Training collars - available with quick release or side release buckle. Leather insert.

A customer had a special request - a prong collar with leather woven through
the links and a SIDE RELEASE BUCKLE. We took the request and designed a
collar that works wonderful, looks great and is easy to put on and take off
your dog. We also made other types of prong collar changes, so you have
multiple choices on what works best for you and your dog.

Herm Sprenger collars, made in Germany, are chrome-plated or stainless steel,
with slightly rounded ends on the links to minimize the chance of injury. All
chains have end swivels. The collar lengths can be adjusted by adding or
removing individual links. (Additional links can be purchased separately.) Proper
use REQUIRES a snug fit.

We do not carry the Herm Sprenger collars with the quick-release scissor snap
on the chain. We have used these collars personally in the past and have had
these scissor snaps open by themselves (usually at the worst possible
moment!). Instead, if you want a release on the chain portion of the collar, we
recommend using a stainless steel pear quick link or a swivel snap hook. These
are a safer alternative to the scissor snap and very easy to take on and off
your dog.

Available sizes:
Micro Prong collar - This is the only prong collar which is NOT made by Herm
Sprenger. This collar is specifically designed for small breed dogs, using strong
stainless steel. This collar is also a great tool for fine corrections on larger,
trained dogs, but is not intended for initial training or heavy corrections on
medium or large sized dogs.

Prong Collars

These collars are still adjustable. One of the fasteners used is a Chicago screw, which can be moved
and repositioned in another pre-punched hole in the leather. The leather can be made any color -
choices can be viewed here. One link is removed from the standard prong collar and replaced with a side
release buckle. The Micro sized prong collar is not available with the side release buckle.

Cover for training collar:
Make your prong collar less noticeable by adding one of our handmade covers. These covers are custom
made to your collar's width and length. They are made with a layer of heavy black fabric, which is then
stitched to black nylon webbing. The cover is secured to your prong collar with durable 3/4" wide Velcro,
which is double stitched between the two layers.

These covers can be used on collars with or without quick release snaps. Simply place the cover around
your collar and fasten the Velcro straps. The covers conceal the prongs from onlookers and gives an
improved look to the prong collar, especially to the "non-dog training" public. Makes your prong collar look
like a regular flat nylon collar. Color: Black

This cover fits a prong collar which does not have
a quick release. The extended portion of webbing
(on the right side of the picture below) covers the
end link completely, while still allowing easy
removal of the collar.
