Equipment made especially for your dog.

Those of you who use tug toys for your dog, realize you need to put the toy somewhere when not using it. So, normally the toy is tucked in the waist band of your pants, stuck inside your shirt or wadded up inside a coat pocket. All of these options take time to access the toy, while making it impossible for you to release your dog directly to the toy itself. Magnet systems help solve this problem, but if your dog does not enjoy hard balls or jute tugs, you have no options.

My current dog LOVES his tug toys and he is a pushy heeling dog, so I needed to create something that would work with the magnet system to allow me to release him directly to his tug toy during heeling. I tried many types of magnets and webbing and came up with something which has worked wonderfully for my dog. The magnet tug allows me to release my dog directly to the tug toy and allows me rapid access to the tug toy when I want to present it to him myself.

While most tugs are filled with cheap filling material, my tugs are stuffed with 100% sheep wool, which is obtained from a third generation family sheep farm in New York state. The wool has been cleaned with biodegradable soap and hot water, and no harsh chemicals are used.

The magnets used are neodymium magnets, which are the world’s strongest magnets. These magnets are NOT toys and are for adult use only. These tugs should never be used as chew toys and are meant for supervised, training use ONLY.

If you already have a magnet system from another vendor, you do not need to purchase the body magnets from me to use these tug toys, they will work with any magnet system.

Two tug lengths (not including handle):
Regular ~ 13" long
Short ~ 8" long

1 set of body magnets (either style, 1 or 2 pieces) - $18.00

No handle - magnet is located in the narrow webbing at one end of tug

One handle - magnet is located at the base of handle
Tug handle colors are NOT customizable. I try to coordinate, but this is not always possible.

Magnet Styles:

1 piece magnet - This is my personal magnet style preference for my dog. This style holds the magnet firmly in place on the waistband of my pants. I have never had the magnet come off with the tug when either the dog is self released to the tug or when I pull the tug off.

2 piece magnet - This style allows you to place your reward anywhere. While the magnets are incredibly strong, I have not used them with super thick materials. I have tested them on the back of my shirts, sweatshirts and light jackets, but be aware that these materials are looser and have more “give” to them, when the tug is being pulled off. Thicker materials may affect the strength of the magnets, allowing them to slip when the tug is removed. Smaller pieces also equal ingestion hazards, so always pay attention when using any magnet systems. If you are wanting to use the magnets on thick materials, I suggest the Top-Matic clips, which are housed in heavy rubber and available at several working dog online sites. The Top-Matic clips will work with my magnet tugs.
